Introducing Our New Board Chairman!

May 3, 2016

Matt Heinz

This past February, Kenny Dunaway passed the baton (or the staff as shown above) to Matt Heinz as Chairman of the Board of Directors for MCWA. Though we were sad to see Kenny transition off, we are delighted that Matt has graciously taken up the mantle of this vital role!

We would love to tell you more about Matt!

Matt Heinz is a member of The Chapel and has been involved with MCWA for 10 years. His involvement has opened his eyes to the vastness of the world and has given him compassion for people groups without the knowledge of Jesus. He visited Cameroon in 2013, which had a significant impact on his life. “My time in Cameroon showed me that more mission-minded men and women are needed to go to reach our target people group.” Matt was also blown away by the crucial need for quality health care, as well as how much the people value it. He takes every opportunity to share with friends, family, and colleagues what God is doing in Cameroon.

Matt speaks highly of the quality of MCWA’s mission, message, staff, and volunteers. This was a reason he accepted the Board of Directors’ invitation to join them. Becoming Chairman took much prayer and seeking God’s will. “The process of surrendering never ends as a follower of Jesus,” he shared. Matt chose to take on the responsibility of leading an organization doing pioneering work in a dark place – all as a volunteer. The behind-the-scenes work of a Board Chairman, though unseen, is a high call. We could not be happier to welcome Matt to step into this role!

Matt and Family

Matt has been married to Julie, his favorite person on the planet, for 14 years and has three boys: Jacob, Andrew, and Luke. When he’s not volunteering with MCWA, he is a financial advisor. In his spare time he enjoys spending time with family as much as possible as well as hunting, fishing, and playing golf. He also serves at The Chapel in the high school ministry and as a deacon.

Matt hopes that others will get involved as well! He states, “MCWA is doing work to help fulfill the Great Commission by working with unreached and unengaged people. That alone is enough to get involved as a volunteer and give financially.”
