How to Pray for the Field Team

July 16, 2014

1. Pray for essentials. It is not so essential to pray for good health. The important thing is that He give us the measure of health that will glorify Him.

2. Do not pray that God will give us an easy path. Rather that He might give us grace sufficient to be overcomers for Him.

3. Do not pray so much that God will answer our prayers as that God will keep us from being too busy to pray.

4. Pray that God will remove hindrances or that in battling them He might give us an unconquerable determination to go all the way with Him.

5. It is not so important that God will bless our activities as it is to pray that God censor and direct our activities.

6. Do not pray for us as though we were saints, living on a high level, because we are on the field. We are subject to temptation. Satan determines to hinder our testimony to rob our lives of power or make our witness futile. Pray that God will give grace and strength to resist temptation.

7. Remember that we can become lonely, discouraged, irritable, sharp and impatient. Much overseas work can be done without really being on fire for the Lord. So we covet your prayers that we may live with our hearts aflame with compassion for the lost - aflame with the glory and love of Christ.
