Since the early days of the hospital, employees have offered medical care and spiritual encouragement to residents of a tiny village called Gogoria. In the early 1990’s, MCWA team members found the Hansen’s Disease village nearby with patients needing treatment for their ulcers and other illnesses. The hospital was not built yet, so Dr. Bert Oubre and his wife along with others began treating the patients in Gogoria. This village has been a part of our work since then.
